Querx Firmware

Querx is continually improved by periodic updates. Update your device’s firmware, in order to add new features and correct possible errors.

This tutorial explains how to update the firmware.

Recent Firmware

Version 6.0.11
25.01.2023
German, English
  • External electromagnetic fields could lead to a deadlock of the sensor and result in a permanent sensor error in Querx (WLAN) TH and THP. This condition is avoided by a more robust control of the sensor.
  • Template functionality, which has been extended some time ago, eliminates the need to specify parameters in URLs for HTTP push (dollar sign followed by a digit). Support for these parameters was also buggy and has been removed.
Version 7.0.9 Beta
03.08.2023
German, English
  • Querx WLAN additionally supports SNMPv3, WPS, WiFi Direct (P2P) and AP mode.
  • With Querx WLAN, both network interfaces, WLAN and Ethernet, can be activated simultaneously.
  • In addition to the recorded measured values, alarm states and sensor errors are now recorded and displayed in the diagram.
  • The calculation of relative air pressure is now only available with Querx WLAN THP.
  • The placeholders in a URL ($1 etc.) are no longer required by current templates and can no longer be used.

Firmware Archive

Version 6.0.10
25.11.2022
German, English
  • With some Querx WLAN, the Ethernet interface only worked reliable after reaching the normal operating temperature. The reason was a faulty configuration of the CPU hardware. It could happen that devices with dynamic IP configuration were no longer accessible after a longer power failure. This error has been fixed.
  • The templates were better protected against cross-site scripting.
  • If any sensor error persists, the unit is restarted after 10 minutes.
  • After deactivating and reactivating MQTT, it could happen that two parallel connections to the broker were established. This error has been fixed.
Version 6.0.7
31.05.2022
German, English
  • When updating from version 5, the configuration is retained as far as possible. This may not apply to cloud connections. These should be checked after updating.
  • An update from version 4.4 and earlier versions resets Querx to factory settings. Please save your configuration before installing the update. The update needs to be installed via an Ethernet connection, since the WiFi configuration is also lost.
  • The ability to create user-specific templates is now officially supported and has been documented in the manual.
  • Actions triggered by events have been extended and are significantly more flexible and uniformly configurable. This especially expands the possibilities to connect to cloud servers.
  • The number of possible email recipients is dynamic and is now only limited by the available memory. The same applies to other destinations, e.g. HTTP push or SNMP traps.
  • Actions can be triggered at fixed minute intervals or daily, weekly or monthly at a specified time of day.
  • Additional time filters allow to limit actions triggered by alarms to certain days of the week and time of the day. Among other things, this makes it possible to inform different e-mail recipients depending on the time of day.
  • As long as an alarm is pending, triggered actions can be repeated at fixed time intervals.
  • E-mail notifications and other actions can also be triggered during a reboot.
  • Warning limits can be defined in addition to alarm limits.
  • In addition to MQTT, Querx WLAN now supports FTP for exporting data.
  • For data export, point or comma can be selected as decimal separator.
  • Modbus registers have been extended with error status and absolute air pressure.
  • The mean sea-level pressure is now only available with Querx WLAN.
Version 5.0.16
07.04.2022
German, English
  • An update from version 4.4 and earlier versions resets Querx to factory settings. Please save your configuration before installing the update. The update needs to be installed via an Ethernet connection, since the WiFi configuration is also lost.
  • Due to an error in the query of random numbers, always the same cookie was generated for the web interface. This error has been fixed.
Version 5.0.14
15.12.2021
German, English
  • An update from version 4.4 and earlier versions resets Querx to factory settings. Please save your configuration before installing the update. The update needs to be installed via an Ethernet connection, since the WiFi configuration is also lost.
  • Output of empty data logger records is suppressed more reliably.
  • Empty lines were removed from the XML output of current values, which could not be processed by Excel and possibly other tools.
  • A missing parenthesis in template expressions no longer leads to an infinite loop.
  • Sporadically the entire configuration was lost after saving a change. This error has been fixed.
Version 5.0.13
05.07.2021
German, English
  • An update from version 4.4 and earlier versions resets Querx to factory settings. Please save your configuration before installing the update. The update needs to be installed via an Ethernet connection, since the WiFi configuration is also lost.
  • In very dry or very humid environments, measurement inaccuracies of the humidity sensor will no longer cause sensor errors to be reported.
Version 5.0.12
21.05.2021
German, English
  • An update from version 4.4 and earlier versions resets Querx to factory settings. Please save your configuration before installing the update. The update needs to be installed via an Ethernet connection, since the WiFi configuration is also lost.
  • The configuration storage has been completely revised. This means that in the future it should only occur in very rare cases that the configuration is lost during a firmware update.
  • The necessity to reset the configuration or to restart the system to accept the configuration is reported on the web interface.
  • Configurations can optionally be saved with passwords.
  • The chart for Querx CN received numerous fixes and improvements.
  • The color interval of the heatmap has been extended.

Version 4.4.27
15.10.2020
German, English
  • With Querx TH and Querx THP of hardware version 1.2 it happened that recovery from sporadic sensor errors requires disconnecting the power supply. The error detection and the automatic correction have been improved.

  • A large number of e-mails may have been sent after a time correction.
  • An error in JavaScript could lead to an empty diagram being displayed in the web interface.
  • In the description, absolute and relative air pressure were mixed.
Version 4.4.12
27.09.2019
German, English
  • mDNS (Apple Bonjour) did not work anymore since version 4.2. This bug has now been fixed.
  • The support of mDNS can lead to a restart under unknown circumstances. Until the actual error is found and fixed, mDNS and LLMNR can be deactivated in this version. Customers with Apple computers on the network who are observing frequent reboots of their Querx sensors should temporarily disable mDNS in the Querx configuration and access the sensors via its IP address. Note that the changed configuration will be applied only after the next reboot.
  • When restoring older configuration files, the sensor scan could be deactivated. This error was already fixed in version 4.2.17, but had not been included in the current development branch.
Version 4.4.10

  • With Querx CN, the current values are displayed correctly again.
Version 4.4.5
02.09.2019

  • The firmware has been optimized to exploit the hardware more efficiently, which makes the Querx web interface respond to queries more quickly.
  • DHCP communication has been optimized. Amongst other changes, the device will now attempt to establish an IP configuration via DCHP, even if a ZeroConf address has been allocated (if DHCP was not accessible when the device was booted). Additionally, the time it takes Querx to boot under a DHCP configuration has decreased by several seconds.
  • The web interface now exclusively utilizes system fonts. No additional fonts are retrieved from Google any longer.
  • Sporadic sensor errors are reset more reliably and no longer necessarily lead to a reboot.
  • Gaps in the logged data were previously displayed incorrectly. This error has been fixed.

Version 3.0.4
08/03/2016
English, German
  • If WiFi is configured but the connection has failed and no Ethernet link is available, Querx will restart within approximately 5 minutes to react to the new network environment. If Querx WLAN is operated without an Ethernet cable, the WiFi interface needs to be deactivated to prevent the device from rebooting.
  • The internal multitasking memory has been slightly increased to provide sufficient memory reserves.
  • It could previously happen that Querx could no longer react to network queries if the memory was full after the device had run for a longer period and several MDNS-queries had been received in one package. This issue has been resolved.
