Alerts

The measured values are usually retrieved by a user from time to time or automatically retrieved by an application in regular intervals.

However, if an alert occurs, Querx network sensors itself will spring into action.

In most cases configuring an upper and lower threshold value will suffice.

Querx sends an alert notification once a value is transgressed.

Sometimes, however, monitoring simple threshold values is not enough.

When storing sensitive goods one might, for instance, want to be informed if the temperature has changed by more than 2 °C within the last hour.

Both the timeframe and the temperature’s maximal change up or down can be configured.

In other cases, small, short term changes need to be ignored.

When opening a fridge door, for example, an alert is unnecessary. When the door is left open for a while, or if the refrigeration fails, however, an alert will be required. It is possible to delay alerts by a configurable time frame.

Querx can send notifications to up to 4 recipients when alerts are activated or deactivated.

If the mail server fails, notification mails can be sent via an alternative server.
The mails’ content can be customized and can contain the type of alert and the current measurement value.

When an alert is triggered, the device’s LED flashes and Querx WLAN can additionally sound a buzzer.

The network sensors can send so-called SNMP traps to automated monitoring systems, in order to trigger further alert features.

Since Querx can be configured to send the tracked values to the Cloud periodically, this can also be used to monitor whether certain threshold values are maintained.

Many cloud services can also notify you of certain events, for instance by sending text-messages or WhatsApp messages.
