The VS1000 & VS1053 HiFi Recorder is a multi-format media player and recorder device that can play almost any audio files and record with several qualities from mono wideband speech at 49 kbit/s to stereo linear HiFi PCM at 1.5 Mbit/s.
This VLSI board is a reference design for an "MP3 player" and high quality recording device. It is one of the most versatile audio players around. It can play back music in MP3, AAC, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MIDI and ADPCM formats. It can also record either in high-quality Ogg Vorbis or lossless PCM formats. The measured dynamic range is better than 90 dB.
A clear OLED display offers playback and recording information as well as a menu system.
